Hydrate collects the following types of information:

  • Water Intake Data: The amounts and types of drinks you log, timestamps, and notes you add.
  • Health Data: If you enable Apple Health integration, we read and write water intake data to HealthKit.
  • Settings and Preferences: Your daily goal, preferred units, reminder schedules, and app customizations.
  • Device Information: Basic device type for providing the best experience across platforms.

How We Use Your Information

Your data is used exclusively to:

  • Track and display your hydration progress
  • Send reminder notifications (if enabled)
  • Generate statistics and insights about your hydration habits
  • Sync your data across your devices via iCloud (if enabled)
  • Sync with Apple Health (if enabled)

Data Storage

Local Storage: All your hydration data is stored locally on your device using Apple's secure SwiftData framework.

iCloud Sync: If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your private iCloud container. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

No External Servers: We do not operate any external servers. Your data never leaves Apple's ecosystem.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your hydration data stays on your devices and in your personal iCloud account.

Apple Health Integration

If you grant permission, Hydrate can:

  • Read water intake data from Apple Health
  • Write your logged water intake to Apple Health

This integration is optional and requires your explicit permission. You can revoke access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices.

Analytics

We do not use any third-party analytics services. We do not track your behavior or collect usage statistics.

Children's Privacy

Hydrate is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time:

  • Delete the app to remove all local data
  • Disable iCloud sync and delete iCloud data in Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
